COURSES & WORKSHOPS

Ramana Maharshi Centre for Learning conducts courses in Bharatanatyam, Karnatic Classical Ramana Music, Ramana Bala Kendra, Ramana, Yuva Kendra Yoga Classes, Folk Dances like Yakshagana, Patta Kunita and many more, Bhajan Classes.

The main aim of the Courses is to create and burn the fire of Culture and Heritage of India to the younger generation.

All these courses are also Certificate courses. Certificates are given to those students who have performed well in the exams conducted by the Centre. We have able teachers for all the courses.

Bharatanatyam:

The uniqueness of this class is that we have a separate one year course for students who are aged 5 years. The students learn the concept of rhythm and movement so that they are ready to start full fledged Dancing.

This is an eight year course which is called as

1. Natyakala Pravesha
2. Natyakala Prathama
3. Natyakala Dwiteeya
4. Natayakala Triteeya
5. Natyakala Chaturtha
6. Natyopasana Bodhini
7. Natyopasana Madhyama
8. Natyopasana Vidwath

The students are classified into 3 categories. They are sub- juniors, juniors and seniors. Sub-juniors have one year course. Juniors have 4 year course and the seniors have 3 year course. The Centre also encourages the students to attend the Board exams conducted by the Karnataka State Government.

We are proud to tell you that till date we have 6 students who have already attended and have secured high marks in the exams. The Classes are conducted twice a week on Tuesday and Thursday from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Ramana Maharshi Heritage Centre. There are three teachers for this particular course.
 

   

Karnatik Classical Ramana Music:

The students who learn music from the centre are doubly benefited because they will be learning sahitya along with the swaras. We are very proud to say that nobody else has such a syllabus.

This is a 4 year junior course which are called as

1. Nadakala Prathama
2. Nadakala Dwiteeya
3. Nadakala Triteeya
4. Nadakala Chaturtha

The Classes are conducted twice a week on Wednesday and Friday from 5p.m. to 7p.m. at the Ramana Maharshi Heritage Centre and on Wednesday and Saturday from 5p.m to 7p.m. in Malleswaram. There are three teachers for this particular course.
 

    

Folk Dances of Karnataka:

The Centre is conducting Courses for Yakshagana and Patta Kunita. The centre is keen on encouraging the Culture of Karnataka, the mother on which we live.

Yakshagana is one of the folk dances of Karnataka. It was originated from the Yakkalagaana, similar to the Harikatha format but with a slight change. The Dancer himself sings and narrates the story with the help of dialogues also. Now it is being performed by ladies also.
This is a three year course which will include Dance, Make – up, Singing and many other aspects.

Patta Kunita is also another folk art which is a dance in which the artiste needs to balance a bamboo stick and hold a cloth. It is a dance where artistes join together and form different formations to make the dance look attractive. There is one rhythm instrument and the artistes shout different syllables and dance to rhythm. This is a one year course.

The Classes are conducted twice a week on Wednesday and Friday from 6.30p.m. to 8p.m. at the Ramana Maharshi Heritage Centre. There are two separate teachers for each course.

Ramana Bala Kendra:

This course is a special course since children will be learning moral value through Indian Culture and Life and Teachings of Bhagavan Sri Ramana Maharshi. It is an all round development class where children above 5 years and below 16 years will be learning dance, drama, painting, craft, music, sloka, speaking skills and so on.

The Classes are conducted once a week on Saturday from 5 p.m. to 6.30 p.m. at the Ramana Maharshi Heritage Centre and on Sunday from 10a.m to 11 a.m. in Malleswaram. There are three teachers for this particular course.
 

    

Ramana Yuva Kendra:

This course is a course for the youth. In this course, youth discuss about matters regarding Basic qualities of a human being, the right path to follow and the highest goal of life. All the above matters are discussed with reference to Bhagavan Sri Ramana Maharshi’s Life and teachings and some aspects from the Indian Epics as well.

The Class is conducted once a week on Saturday from 2.30 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Ramana Maharshi Heritage Centre. There is one teacher for this particular class.

Yoga Classes:

Yoga helps us to keep our body fit and healthy. This helps us in making the body fresh and keep it active all the time with the help of breathing exercises, warming up exercises, asana for different problems and many more.

The Classes are conducted thrice a week on both in the morning and evening on Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 6.30 a.m. to 7.30 a.m. and 6.00 p.m. to 7.00 p.m. at the Ramana Maharshi Heritage Centre. There is one teacher for this particular course.

Ramana Bhajan class:

Ramana Bhajan class is being conducted by the Centre for the interested ladies and gentlemen. In this the students will be introduced to Ramana’s Life and Teachings through Bhajans. Bhajans are small songs or namavalis, names of God which will be repeated after the Lead voice sings, others need to repeat it the second time. This creates a devotional mood among the listeners as well as the singers themselves.

The Classes are conducted once a week on Wednesday from 11.30 a.m. to 1.30 p.m. in Malleswaram. There is one teacher for this particular course. There is a plan in starting a class at the Ramana Maharshi Heritage Centre also.
